Cello Concert in Gent - 10th March 2013

Andrew Wise, the CamSoc Captain of Music, is delighted to invite you to the Laureatenconcert on Sunday 10th March, 3 to 6pm in Gent, Belgium. The address of the venue is: Miryzaal van het Conservatorium, Gent, Hoogpoort 64.

Andrew has kindly pre-reserved a number of tickets for Oxbridge members to attend the concert in the best seats. The tickets cost €25 each including reception with wine and titbits afterwards. Pre-reserved tickets are limited and on a first come first served basis. To reserve your place, please write to: mail@wisenose.net

The Laureatenconcert is organised by the Lions club in Gent featuring the prize winning cellist Chiara Enderle (Lions European Musical Competition 2012). The concert is also a benefit concert for Autimismus, a project to provide self-sufficient studio style housing for autistic adults in Gent.

Chiara will play the Bach suite no. IV, Chopin's cello sonata with Andrew accompagning, and following the intermission we will be treated to a concert by the cello ensemble Octocelli (http://www.octocelli.be/).

Further details of the concert can be found on Andrew’s website here: http://wisenose.net/concertdiary.html

Car pooling may be available for those who wish to attend (please email e_e_pearson@yahoo.co.uk) if you intend to join by car, or would like to find a lift. Alternatively, travel by public transport is possible by train to Gent Sint-Pieters then tram 1 to Korenmarkt.

May I also take the opportunity to draw your attention to the new CamSoc LinkedIn group. All Cambridge Alumni are welcome to join our professional network. The group can be found here: http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=4855507.

Finally, I would like to mention a charity concert with a Cambridge connection by the Cambridge Consort of Voices with the Orchestra of the Chapelle des Minimes conducted by Piers Maxim on Sunday March 17th at 4pm in the Eglise Protestante de Bruxelles (info and reservations: www.weezevent.com/ccov or email: lions.ucclekauwberg@gmail.com)
